New? Start here!

(May 2011)  Before you continue, you should know that Owen passed away last October.  I am leaving the original page contents up so that older posts still have some context.

Thank you for visiting…

Welcome to my blog – an exploration of the options and decisions involved in the care of my family, and particularly the care of my older son, Owen.  Angus is occasionally featured here too, but for the most part, this forum is to explore the difficult medical and social decisions required to raise and support a child who has no way to make decisions or express preferences himself.

For context, you may wish to start by reading the pages in ABOUT THIS BLOG  listed on the right, starting with This Blog’s Mission.

You can leave public comments on any page or blog post.  Or, you can send me a private message here.

Thanks for checking out this site!  Let me know what you think :)

    Hi Jennifer:

I can identifiy with your pain. I went for 18 months and 11 doctors before I was diagnosed with ACM – Arnold Chiari Malformatioin, the symptoms which also mimic
MS and other neuro-muscular conditions. This is a genetic disease. You might want to ask your doctor about this rare condition.

You and Owen are in my prayers.

your little boy is beautiful the way he is. there is a reason he was made this way but some times we have to look under the surface.your little boy will be the best listener in the whole world and he has all the answers to every question. he reminds me of someone that i lost but will never forget.
